Posted by: Tyler Robinson - Systems Tech on April 9, 2020
What crazy times we truly are in, first off I hope that all of you are doing well and are staying healthy. I'd like to express my thoughts with you regarding some of the help that is currently out for our industry as well as help spread awareness about our industry and the serious impact that this virus is having on it.
If you are in the industry of providing services to events with live audiences then you need to go and sign up for the petitions and groups below. Doing so will help spread awareness of our needs as an industry and will help us get the relief that we need.
- Donald J. Trump: Federal Aid Package for Events Industry
- Utah Live Events Industry Association - Lobbying group for events industry in Utah.
- Utah Live Events Industry Association - Facebook group that is full of helpful ideas for the Utah event industry.
- Live Events Coalition (National) Group - Facebook group that is full of support topics for the event industry during the pandemic.
The aforementioned facebook groups and websites offer a wealth of information regarding the current relief options if you are in the event industry and are effected. There is information on local disaster relief loans, SBA payroll forgiveness loans, unemployment benefits for W2 employees, relief options for 1099 employees and much more. Please sign up for them and spread the word so that we can all help each other out.
During this time of downtime it is a great time to hone your skills in, take some training, clean your gear, organize your inventory and much more. Many manufacturers are offering free training and certification seminars, please follow them on social media such as Instagram or Facebook as well as their websites to get the details of those trainings.
We all need to come out of this alive, healthy and better educated so that we can all be apart of the great re-bound of the event industry. I'm especially worried about our part time and freelance workers during this pandemic, if you are suffering, need food or need a place to stay then please do reach out and I will do my best to personally help you. We need all of you to pull off the amazing events that we do, we are all in this together and I'm confident that we will be able to recover from this.
