Private Auction and Dinner at Salt Palace

Posted by: Tyler Robinson - Systems Tech on March 3, 2013

Poll Sound provided the sound reinforcement for a private auction held at the Salt Palace Convention Center. We used a similar setup to that of the Governors Energy Development Summit utilizing 4 main speaker arrays; the difference with the auction though was that we also flew two delay arrays farther back in the hall.

The two center arrays consisted of 6 L-Acoustics Kara line array modules in each array. With Two SB18's stacked underneath each array. The outer two arrays consisted of 8 D&B audiotechnik T10 line array modules in each array. The two delay arrays consisted of 3 Kara modules per array. All L-Acoustics speakers were amplified by LA8 amplified controllers; while the D&B speakers were amplified by D12 amplifiers.

We were able to get very accurate and even sound coverage in the room thanks to L-Acoustics Soundvision modeling software and D&B's ArrayCalc software. The event was a success and everybody was able to hear the auctioneer with absolute clarity. Shure UHF-R wireless microphones were used for the auctioneer and public address needs.
