Swede Larson - Recording Latest Album In Progress

Swede Larson, classical guitarist is currently recording his latest album, "The Presentation of Matteo Carcassi’s Opus 59 Méthode complète pour Guitare". Speaking of this current project Swede shares, "Often guitarist and students of the guitar are concerned with playing only the most complicated and difficult of pieces, pieces that are largely out of the technical merits of even the best of musicians. As a result they spent months even years playing the same pieces only to discover that their repertoire is so limited that playing many public performances is out of the question. Could the time not be spent more effectively in learning music, which more effectively utilizes the guitar’s capabilities and idiosyncrasies? The answer is; most certainly, YES!
Matteo Carcassi is one such musician, guitarist, and composer who wrote a great deal of stunningly beautiful and interesting music whose technical merits creates a greater accessibility than the works of Beethoven, Handel, Bach, Mozart, Haydn, etc.
Perhaps his most famous set of works are the 25 studies collected in his Opus 60 etudes; though it’s fame is not likely due to quality but to availability. Opus 25 has been published and recorded by many guitarists from the best, to lowliest students of the instrument. The majority of Mr. Carcassi’s works are famously beautiful and riddled with a keen sense of musical effect, which rarely over drives the fingers, and thumbs of the never tiring hands. These, as well as many of his other studies, are finely crafted and quite accessible to even the most remedial of players."
