SUU Commencement Graduation Ceremonies

Poll Sound provided the audio reinforcement for Southern Utah University's commencement ceremonies. This is a two day event where the university graduates all the students that are eligible in its colleges. The event features a live orchestra, choir, quartet, and blues band. Along with several keynote speakers. The featured speaker at this years event was Rabi Shmuel "Shmuley" Boteach; he gave an excellent, thrilling and compelling speech.
To help the speeches and ceremonies be impactful and understood, Poll Sound provided L-Acoustics Kara as the main's for the PA. For the Out-Fill and Back-Fill we deployed D&B T series speakers. To cover the stage which is where honored guests, dignitaries and faculty were seated we deployed L-Acoustics 5XT's and 8XT's which handled the job perfectly. Front-Fill was also handled by two more 5XT's. All speakers were powered by LA8 and D6 amplifiers. At the mix position we used a Yamaha M7CL, it worked flawlessly and was operated in turns by two of Poll Sounds Engineers, Tyler Robinson and Chris Dye.
The show was a great success with no known issues and everything performed as expected. Coverage of the arena was exceptional and even quite speakers were able to be heard in every part of the venue. The gain before feedback with L-Acoustics and D&B products is truly amazing and really helps you achieve a rich full sound even with quiet distant speakers and performers.
