Poll Sound provided one of our concert audio systems for a concert in Eagle Mountain, Utah featuring Chris Cagle as the main performance with up and coming country artist Ash Bowers as the opening band.
The venue was an outdoor amphitheater that has a fairly steep vertical climb and is also quite wide. After deciding to to use D&B J series loudspeakers we headed to D&B's modeling software ArrayCalc to determine the number of cabinets and the proper angles in order to provide even coverage throughout the entire venue. We ended up using 2 J8's per side with 6 J12's flown underneath, with 6 T10's per side for the out-fills; front-fill requirements were also fulfilled with T10 loudspeakers. A total of 8 B2 subwoofers were deployed on the ground to satisfy the low end needs of the bands and keep the crowd hopping all night long. All speakers were powered by D12 and D6 amplifiers that were controlled via D&B's control software R1 at the FOH mix position.
Poll Sound provided engineers for both the Monitor and House mix position for the opening band, Chris Dye took care of the monitor mix with Tyler Robinson taking care of house. At the monitor mix position a Yamaha M7CL was used with Electro-Voice XW12 monitor wedges. A Midas Pro 2 console was used at FOH, with a Lake LM44 as the system EQ. The opening act, Ash Bowers, put on a spectacular performance and got the crowd pumped up and ready for Chris Cagle. Chris Cagle carried all of their own microphones, consoles and monitors. They put on a great performance and had the crowd pumping late into the night.
