Cornerstone AV and Poll Sound teamed up this week to achieve Audio Perfection for a private corporate party featuring hit indie alternative rock / pop bands: Vampire Weekend, Fictionist and Walk the Moon. Two large stages were setup in opposing sides of the venue to accommodate band change over time and give the appearance of a music festival for the attendees.
One stage featured Fictionist and Walk the Moon, the PA for the stage was an L-Acoustics rig with 15 Kara enclosures flown per side along with 2 SB18's flown per side. An arsenal of SB28 subwoofers were placed on the floor to satisfy the low end requirements with 8XT's placed along the front of the deck to provide front fill, the entire PA was powered via 9 LA-8 amplified controllers. The monitor rig for Fictionist consisted of 12XT loudspeakers powered by a couple of the new LA4X amplified controllers from L-Acoustics. The monitor rig for Walk the Moon consisted of Sennheiser G3 In-Ear monitors. A Yamaha CL-5 was used to mix monitors for both bands while a CL-3 was used as the FOH console for both bands; 32 Channel RIO stage boxes were placed upstage on the deck allowing for short cable runs to the instruments.
The other stage featured Vampire Weekend where a D&B audiotechnik J Series rig was deployed. Ten J's were flown per side with 8 J-Subs placed on the floor and T's on the deck for front fill. A plethora of D&B M2 wedges were spread across the stage to satisfy the monitor requirements of the band and a single V-Sub was behind the drummer to make him happy. The entire PA and monitor rig was powered by D12 amplifiers and controlled via D&B's R1 control software. A Yamaha PM5D was used as the FOH console while a Digidesign Profile took care of monitors.
